PhD Project

Linking recent and older IEA studies on mathematics and science

  • Evaluating the degree of comparability across recent and older IEA studies
  • Concurrent calibration of all item parameters using item response theory (IRT) to link the IEA studies (FIMS/SIMS/TIMSS; FISS/SISS/TIMSS) onto a common metric for all studies from 1964
  • Evaluating the feasibility of measuring long-term trends in attitude towards mathematics
