PhD Project

Children from workless backgrounds and the mediating role of parents

  • Isolate the effect of parents’ unemployment on school children’s educational performance using PISA 2003 and 2012 data
  • Supplementing findings from cross-sectional PISA data using panel data such as the Millennium Cohort Study
  • Analyse findings across and within countries in order to understand how educational policies mitigate the role of parent’s unemployment
